Building our family… piece by piece

piece-by-piece

We wanted to give you an update on our puzzle fundraiser!

Baby Bullock’s puzzle is almost 1/3 complete!!  It’s amazing to know that each of these pieces symbolize someone who is supporting us, praying for our baby, and joining with us in building our family.  We are forever thankful for your generosity and love.  And we can’t wait to raise Baby Bullock knowing his/her story and how so many people loved and prayed for them before they were known.  We are humbled by our community of friends, family, neighbors, and even people we’ve never met, who are ready and excited to welcome Baby Bullock into their lives.

Our Goal is to complete our 750 piece puzzle!

“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.”

Ephesians 3:20-21 The Message (MSG)

Would you prayerfully consider being a piece of the puzzle? Whether it’s one piece or several pieces, every donation we receive is sincerely appreciated and will help bring our baby girl or boy home!

Here’s how it works:
  • We have selected a puzzle; every piece symbolizing someone who will help bring Baby Bullock home.
  • Each piece is a minimum donation of $10.
  • You may choose to be one piece of the puzzle or several pieces of the puzzle.
  • YOUR name or family name will be written on the back of each piece you represent!
  • After the puzzle is completed, we will frame the puzzle between two pieces of glass and hang it in our child’s room.

YOU can be a part of completing our missing piece to the puzzle!

To sponsor a piece of the puzzle, simply click on the “Bring Baby Bullock Home” button below.  This will take you to PayPal.  If you do not feel comfortable using PayPal, please email us at youareourhappythought@gmail.com, and we will provide you with a mailing address to send a donation.  Also, if you wish to sponsor more than one piece of the puzzle OR if you would like to donate more than $10, please contact us through our blog or send us an email.  Of course, you can absolutely make an in-person donation, too!  And if you’d like to sign your own family name on the back of your puzzle piece, let us know!  It would be so special to have your handwriting.

Bring Baby Bullock Home

“Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.”

Romans 8:28The Message (MSG)

We can feel God’s presence in this story.  He has taken away fears and anxieties and He has give us peace, hope, and joy for the future.  We truly feel called to adoption… not just as future adoptive parents, but as advocates for adoption.  Our hope is that God will use our journey, our story….first, to bring Him GLORY, and second, to bring awareness to adoption.

I know I can’t see everything right now, but I can’t wait to look back on our journey and SEE just how God orchestrated every step and provided in every way.  And when we hold our baby in our arms, we will KNOW, without a doubt, that this is our hope, our future (Jeremiah 29:11).  And God is the One who brought them home.

Adoption is LOVE… and LOVE is what will bring Baby Bullock home.

Love & Blessings… Always,

Justin & Kristen

Egg My Yard!

We are launching our next adoption fundraiser for anyone living close by!  Easter will be here before you know it, and we wanted to make sure we had time to get everything together based on interest!

Egg My Yard

Who: Calling all parents, grandparents, or anyone who has little ones visiting Easter weekend! (Please share our fundraiser if you know someone who might be interested!)

What: Egg My Yard!  We will deliver and hide candy-filled eggs and your child(ren) will wake up to a sweet surprise!  When you sign-up, we will send you an email or private message with questions (how many eggs, your address, which date, where would you like the eggs hidden, child(ren) age(s), egg filling preference…candy & type, small toy, or combination).  During March, when Easter is closer, we will send you a schedule so you will know around what time to expect little bunnies working in your yard!

When: Easter is on April 1st this year.  We will deliver and hide your eggs either Friday Night, March 30th or Saturday Night, March 31st.  When your little ones wake up on Saturday or Sunday morning, they will have a surprise waiting!

Where: You can choose to have your eggs hidden in your front or back yard.  Just make sure to let us know, have gates unlocked, and pets inside.  If the weather doesn’t cooperate for an outside delivery, we will contact you for Plan B ideas!  We can still deliver your eggs in a plastic wrapped basket!

Why: All proceeds will go to our adoption fund!  We are so thankful for your support and prayers as we wait for Baby Bullock!  It takes a village, and we are so grateful for your partnership to help bring Baby Bullock Home!  We can’t wait to bring home the perfect baby that God has chosen to join our family!

Every person who donates to our adoption becomes a part of our story; a piece of our puzzle.

In addition to the candy-filled eggs, there will be one empty egg hidden.

New Year…New Hope

Image result for happy new year 2018

Happy New Year, friends! Wishing each of you a happy, healthy, beautiful 2018!

As we begin this new year, we have some exciting news…

We are officially a Waiting Family!!!

After many weeks of waiting and praying, our Home Study has been APPROVED!!  And we are officially a “Waiting Family!  This means, that at this time, our profile book can be shown to birth families who are considering making an adoption plan.  Our family profile book is essentially a book containing all sorts of pictures and information about us and our life.  Birth families look through many profile books and read numerous letters while beginning the process of forming an adoption plan.  Our prayer is that God will guide the perfect family to our book and they will feel a special connection to us.

Now, all we can do is sit back and wait. The typical waiting process can take anywhere from just a few months to a couple years. That could sound like a long time! But, we trust God’s timing and have faith that He knows our Baby and has in mind the perfect addition to our family! We may receive a call that there is an expectant mom who is six months pregnant and wants to meet us or that there is a baby in the hospital waiting to be picked up.  This part of the timeline is truly unknown to us.

Please continue to pray for us! I know we will needs lots of prayers and encouragement during this time of waiting.  The next step is… a baby!

As we’ve begun a new year and are one chapter closer to meeting our happy thought, I wanted to choose a new word to live and pray in 2018.

My 2018 word is…

hope

“Ordinarily, when we express hope, we are expressing uncertainty. But this is not the distinctive biblical meaning of hope. And the main thing I want to do this morning is show you from Scripture that biblical hope is not just a desire for something good in the future, but rather, biblical hope is a confident expectation and desire for something good in the future.

Biblical hope not only desires something good for the future; it expects it to happen. And it not only expects it to happen; it is confident that it will happen. There is a moral certainty that the good we expect and desire will be done.”

-John Piper

I choose to focus on understanding and living biblical hope this year.  My hope is in you, Oh Lord!  And I’m thankful that He has a plan for us!  He says, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” (Jeremiah 29:11, The Message)
